The Waiting Game

Nothing much new on the home front, just a lot of waiting. Still 5 weeks left until the scheduled delivery date, and it looks like my wife will be spending most of that time in bed resting. Her blood pressure is still a concern, and I am becoming a slave driver to make sure she isn't getting up and doing too much. Otherwise "the boys" (as we usually call them) seem to be doing fine. So we are doing our best to pass the time and keep mom and babies as calm and healthy as possible.

The showers are over, so we are pretty well stocked up on clothing and supplies (lots of diapers). The cribs have been set up for some time, and the rest of the nursery furniture has been arriving and is almost all here and assembled. Since our bedroom is actually the largest single room in the house, we'll be setting up the nursery for the boys on one side. We hauled away the couch (that we bought when we were married) to make plenty of space. It keeps us busy and helps our morale during the waiting.

Still, it all is weighing heavily on me and taking its toll. Running a household more or less on my own is tiring. The worry and anticipation distract me frequently during the day, and when I try to sleep at night. I'm eating more and gaining weight like crazy. It is hard seeing my wife so miserable, while we both keep hoping she can get through the next five weeks OK.
