If I had written this post last night, it would have simply said "Jesus Christ, this sucks".
Our first night home with the twins was rough, really rough. We were still working on lack of sleep. I guess I felt like coming home meant things would start to get back to normal. Instead, it was like beilng in foriegn territory. We were exhausted and had completely lost all sense of time. It almost felt like as soon as we closed our eyes one of the boys would start crying.
So there we are, bone tired and barely awake and trying to get the hang of breast feeding again. I swear we were so hung up on feeding them we were completely forgetting to check their diapers. But that was entirely a different worry - neither one had pooped since they were born and we were getting very worried. Then there is Son #1, aka "Snagletooth" who was actually born with a big old tooth right in front! They call it a prenatal tooth, which at first was a big fleshy sack on his bottom gum. This was making it a little harder for him to breast feed. And for my wife to get set up in bed (still recocering from C-section) to breast feed both at the same time, she had so many pillows piled around her I had to sleep on the floor because there was no room for me in bed.
Then, in the middle of the night, after constantly waking up and feeding and changing screaming and squirming little babys, I muttered the words "pain in the ass". My wife lost it and tried to kick me out of the bedroom/nursery. We were both at wits end with the babies and each other. Jesus Christ, this sucks!

My heart goes out to you. My FIL said before our son was born, "The first year is hell." So ... with the girls, we called it "hell times two." It was. Hang in there. Sending all my best ...
First, congratulations on your twins! I just mentioned on my blog that we tend to say things at 4:00 a.m. that we would never say anywhere else. Sleep deprivation is awful.
My wife uses a twin nursing pillow that is great - no need to adjust pillows. It's big enough to comfortably hold both twins at the same time. I'll find a link for you and send it over.
Let me know if you need anything - advice, a shoulder to cry on, whatever.
